We Are... Personalized URLS!

PURLSPersonalized URLs (PURLs)

A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is nothing more than a web address; it's a text string used by web browsers, email clients and other software to locate resources – web pages, text documents, graphics, or programs – on the Internet.

A Personalized URL (PURL) is the web address of a personalized web page or microsite that is tailored for a specific visitor. A PURL is generally written with the target prospect or customer's name as part of the URL, such as www.retailstore.com/johnsmith. In this example, the web content would be tailored to John Smith through the use of variable fields linked to a database containing information about him.

A Campaign-based URL (CURL) is an address for one of a number of "versions" of campaign landing pages that can be segmented by industry or vertical market, geographic region, business size, etc. Your direct mail can still be personalized and the landing page will be more relevant than a standard website or generic landing page.

A Generic URL (GURL), in contrast to a PURL, is the web address of a promotion-specific landing page. You can use a generic URL to track responses and gather data for future marketing with PURLs. For example, www.retailstore.com/summersavings presents the same offer to everyone who receives the summer savings promotion.

With these URL options, G&C Direct Mail Marking gives you the power to open direct communications with members of your audience about whom you may have different levels of information.
